"It takes a lot of courage to pick up the phone and make that first appointment. Often, clients enter therapy feeling worn down, defeated, or hopeless. Their defenses and coping mechanisms have worked to some degree, but there is a nagging part that tells them that they are more than this outer shell. They want to do more than just 'survive,' and they need a safe place to explore how to get there. My job is to take that journey with them, to help remove the self-blame that keeps them stuck, to foster appreciation for their strengths, and to help them find the answers within themselves. My approach is flexible and my goal is to help my clients connect to all the facets of themselves--body, mind, emotion, culture, and spirit."
